Oy Vey Maria

These were the first pair of shoes I did. I’d been talking about this hilarious idea for a tattoo of “A ninja with a flamethrower riding
a unicorn down a rainbow… also Wilford Brimley would be there.” I’ve thus far been too indecisive to get a tattoo so thought doing
a pair of shoes would be the next best thing as they’d have the same effect – they’d display an idea, they’d be visible and on the
body, but unlike a tattoo I could take them off at the end of the day.

As for representations I liked the idea of a sunburst and the beautiful contrast between deep red and white and having that coupled
with the most well-known icon of Knoxville the Sunsphere, in the foreground the idea of peace with the lion and the lamb resting
together. Conversely I also love the way bombs look falling out of a plane and what beautiful shapes the lines of them make so
coupled that with an atom bomb on the other shoe.
